If Only I can be healed...

Updated: Jun 23, 2022

On Valentines Day, my single and hilarious sister in law sent my wife a meme that I’m still giggling over; it read, “If only my love life could touch the hem of His garment...”

While funny, the truth in that statement is profound. Any area of our lives that just lightly brushes Jesus’ robe will be dramatically changed.

For those who may not know the context here is a snippet of the story of the woman who touched the hem of Jesus's garment and was healed:

“ A woman who had suffered a condition of haemorrhaging for twelve years—a long succession of physicians had treated her, and treated her badly, taking all her money and leaving her worse off than before she had heard about Jesus. She slipped in from behind and touched his robe. She was thinking to herself, “If I can put a finger on his robe, I can get well.” The moment she did it, the flow of blood dried up. She could feel the change and knew her plague was over and done with". Mark 5:25-29(MSG)

She was healed!!!

Imagine the level of belief she had that Jesus could heal her? Imagine her desperation to think just by touching the corner of his robe she could be healed?

Imagine His power, His ability to heal her and change her circumstances in with the mere brushing against His robe? And the fact that He, (Jesus) felt the power leave Him, much to His disciples chagrin (vs 31). That is undisputed power...sign me up for His fan club.

The purpose of Jesus’ public ministry and the miracles He performed was for people to believe in the salvation He was offering.

In the same manner the Church which is the body of Jesus Christ is continuing Jesus's ministry on earth and has been equipped with people who have God-given gifts to touch the world with an anointed service that helps people believe that God loves & God wants us saved and healed.

There are several million things that can be done in service to the public by the Church to reach people with God's love and show his power. Amongst those things is giving people the opportunity to experience good health especially when they have been living a life that needs healing like the woman in Mark 5.

View Church in Cape Town, South Africa has launched a Health Centre at View Church Table View that will open up to the public on the 23rd of June 2022, Running under the banner of their social justice program View Justice (a registered NPO).

The new Health Centre is an extension of Jesus's hand stretched out to the community to come and receive healing. It is a practical Clinic that allows those in the community in need of healing to touch the helm of Jesus's garment and receive the help that they need.

South Africa and indeed Africa as a whole has a great need of affordable health care and View Justice's new Health Centre is part of the Solution to bring affordable health care to people. With a special emphasis on assisting the vulnerable in the community, the View Justice Health Centre is set to literally extend much needed love to those in need of health care and are not able to afford the sometimes exorbitant fees that prevent many in our communities from being able to enjoy the benefit of private health care as an alternative to the public health care system that is under immense strain.

View Justice Health centre is that it is headed up by Leanne Greeff, one of the Lead Pastors of View Church, she is a woman of God who is a Medical doctor by training and firmly believes in the power of prayer. Let's face it there are still so many limitations to medicine in terms of the number of ailments or disease that are still have no breakthrough but the View Justice Health Centre is able to serve the community with world class medical facilities & knowledge and at the same time offer the good news of the gospel of Christ which is unlimited in every way.

Social Justice without The King of true Justice, Jesus Christ, is an injustice to the world. View Justice is positioned to bring real love and assistance to a world that is desperately seeking for authentic love.
