John 17:20-21
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
Day 17 – Unity of believers
This prayer looks to the future. Jesus was praying not only for the people seated around him at the table that evening but also for future followers which includes you and others you know. It is a prayer focussing on unity, all of us being one. To be a follower of Jesus is to be part of the greater whole.
Are you helping to unify the body of Christ, the church? This prayer reminds us that our unity, our "one-ness" is a sign of God's love for us in Jesus Christ.
Think on It:
Do you meet regularly with other believers?
If not, join a group so that we may all be together in unity, worshipping our God.
Let's help unify the body of Christ, the Church by praying for other Christians and building each other up.
